This Irish girl planned the best surprise from Australia for her mum’s 40th birthday

No, you're crying.

Laura Holland

I’m not crying, you’re crying.

We love surprise videos, especially when the person has no idea it’s about to happen and that’s exactly what happened to this Irish Mammy.

Leah Louise King’s mum Melanie got the fright of her life recently when Leah flew home all the way from Australia unannounced for her birthday.

Leah had carefully planned the whole surprise and created a video from Australia which led her mum to believe she was not able to make it home to celebrate with her. In the video, Leah wishes her mum a happy birthday and apologises for not being there, but not before showing her Irish passport, a plane and the journey home to Ireland.

Then as her happy birthday message was playing at the party Leah burst into the room to shock her mum.

Leah wrote on Facebook:

“I can’t believe that after months and months of planning, operation surprise Mammy at her 40th was an absolute success?. I’m honestly not sure how I kept it a secret for so long! Huge shock to everyone, and it couldn’t have come at a better time either?! Thank you so much to everyone who helped make the surprise so perfect! Now to enjoy two weeks with my friends and family before heading back down under.”

Leah also told us that the party was almost not going to go ahead as her younger brother had broken his arm and was in hospital with her dad. She later decided to bring the surprise to him and his reaction is adorable.

Fair play Leah and safe travels back to Australia.
