Dubliner Melanie Mc Cabe returned last night to the X Factor for her fourth year, and this time “it feels different.”
The 19-year old first applied for the show at the incredibly young age of 14, back in 2008 and sang Christina Aguilera’s hit ‘Beautiful,’ however it was not meant to be and Dublin lass return again in 2001.

Melanie's first audition at just 14.
It was almost a case of second time lucky as the pint sized power-house made it the entire way through boot camp to judges house, only to be told by Kelly Rowland she was not successful.

Melanie explained how her "dream had been crushed into a million little pieces," when she didn't make it to the live shows.
Last year she was back, giving yet another amazing performance but again her dreams were dashed when she was sent packing during boot camp.

Melanie back with her Mum for the fourth year.
Returning last night the brunette told the judges, “I think I wasn't myself, I feel more confident this year,” and gave a beautiful rendition of Rihanna’s hit track, Diamonds, much to the delight of the entire panel.
The panel gave her performance rave reviews and head judge Barlow said, “that was absolutely brilliant, the best audition of the day by a mile.” However it was our Louis Walsh that was affected the most by Mel’s fourth appearance back, as she moved him to tears.

Lou Lou fights back the tears after Melanie's amazing performance.
“I know her family need this, I know you need this and I really want it for you. I really, really want you to do well,” he said with a quivering voice.
“I'm saying as very big yes...Melanie this is your time - go for it.” Aw, Lou Lou.
Watch Melanie's powerful performance here.
We can't wait to see Melanie sing her heart out tonight again. G'wan Mel!
