According to a report by CNN Money, MasterCard are about to start testing a new feature which will see purchases approved through the use of a facial scan.
How it works is simple really, particularly if you are anything like selfie queen Kim Kardashian, as all you will need to do is take a selfie when you get to the checkout to get your purchase approved.
MasterCard are hoping that the new technology will also help to eliminate fraud, while it should also allow fingerprint approval.
“MasterCard said it doesn’t actually get a picture of your finger or face,” CNN Money report.
“The facial recognition scan will map out your face, convert it to 1s and 0s and transmit that over the Internet to MasterCard.”
