Our ability to hear and see is one of many things that we take for granted but for some, the journey can be a little more difficult.
Baby Elijah Cook was almost completely deaf when he was born and it wasn't until his parents took a trip to a special children's centre in Minneapolis that he finally heard his mother's voice for the first time.
According to The Telegraph, Elijah was fitted with a tiny hearing aid at just nine weeks old and this adorable video shows the baby's reaction once it was turned on.
"The first time I saw him blink, I had a lot of emotions," said mum Ahavah.
"I was trying really hard not to cry. I didn’t want him to see me cry. I was trying hard to keep it together and just talk to him.”
