It is as ridiculous as it sounds.

This is awful.

An English woman has alleged that she was not allowed admission to a nightclub because of her size.

27-year-old Kelly Twine shared a post of Facebook claiming that she was rejected due to her size 14 figure.

”This evening I was rejected from a nightclub in Reigate due to my dress size….. That’s the society we live in” she said on Saturday

When other Facebook users asked her to elaborate, she explained that she was asked by the bouncer of Mishiko nightclub to take part in a hula hoop challenge to be given entry.

”I was told to enter the club I would have to under go the hula hoop challenge.. Meaning that I couldn’t step through a hula hoop. As someone that’s suffered with eating disorders her entire life I don’t feel great”.

Kelly adds that when her boyfriend went down to the club  to speak about the incident, he was told by the manager: “maybe if it had of been a boy I wouldn’t have been so sensitive and would have been taken as banter”.

The incident was then reported to the management of the club via email and according to  Metro, they replied within the hour with an apology.

They explained that the doorman was not employed by them and was from an external security firm they had just started using. He has since been banned from returning to the club.

A similar incident recently occurred in London when a woman who was celebrating her 20th birthday was told that she and her friend didn’t have the ‘look the club wanted and that they were too big in size’.
