The story of Termon's Geraldine McLaughlin has been one of the fairytale-esque stories that have emerged from this year’s Tesco Homegrown All-Ireland club championships.
The hugely talented 21-year-old Donegal woman helped her side to a phenomenal 3-12 to 1-13 victory over Mourneabbey of Cork in Tuam on Sunday afternoon and not only that, but she slotted over a whopping 3-8 (only 0-4 of which came from frees) of her side’s overall 3-12 scoring on the day.
Her show-stopping display came in a thrilling senior club final, which followed one day after the intermediate and junior club finals which were played on Saturday afternoon.
McLaughlin was the star of Sunday’s show though, having entered the game after already notching a phenomenal 22 goals and 27 points in just six championship games. The sharpshooter had her scoring boots on once more on Sunday and danced and tricked her way through the Cork side’s defence with speed, class and style.
