After realising she was transgender, Stefonknee Wolscht moved out of her family home to live life as a six-year-old girl.
In an interview with The Daily Extra and The Transgender Project, Stefonkee says that she now lives with friends whom she describes “as her adoptive mommy and daddy”.
Talking about how she was married for 23 years, Stefonknee says: “I can’t deny I was married, I can’t deny I have children. But I’ve gone back to being a child”.
The 46-year-old also said that her family found it difficult to understand her decision and this led to her moving out.

Stefonknee spoke about how she was previously known as Paul and worked as a mechanic while married to Maria.
After her family’s reaction to her decision, she felt rejected and tried to take her own life on two occasions.
Stefonknee also talked about how she is a dedicated member of the Catholic Church and LGBT-friendly religious group, Metropolitan Community Church Of Toronto.
