Given that it was certainly one of the most popular series of the year so far with certainly one of the best casts, it is no wonder that everyone is waiting on news about series two of True Detective.
According to Slash Film, the series will apparently revolve around “hard women, bad men and the secret occult history of the United States transportation system."
Series writer Nic Pizzolatto has now also revealed that there will be three lead detectives in the series and that it will be set in California.
"Right now, we’re working with three leads. It takes place in California — not Los Angeles, but some of the much lesser known venues of California — and we’re going to try to capture a certain psychosphere ambiance of the place, much like we did in season one. The characters are all new, but I’m deeply in love with each of them. We’ve got the entire series broken out with a couple of scripts, and we’ll probably start casting in earnest in the coming months."
There were rumours that Jessica Chastain had been offered the lead role for the second series of True Detective last week, however she later denied the rumours. As of yet it seems that True Detective doesn't have its leads.
This should be an interesting one.
