UPDATE: The date has been set for this on June 29th at Hand in Hands family fun day with Connacht Rugby. More information on their fundraiser, Twin Inspiration Hair Cut for Charity, can be found here. We’re very impressed by these two young ladies.
Ger McMahon’s twin daughters, Amy and Sarah, have decided to do something very special for charity - The pair are donating 12 inches of their blonde locks for wigs, for children who have lost their hair due to illness.
According to Ger, Amy came up with this idea herself after hearing about Grace Kenneally, a young girl in Galway who was diagnosed with an aggressive childhood cancer a few years ago.
Eight-year-old Grace has returned to school and is in third class at Gaelscoil Dara in Renmore, but she is still battling with the illness.
Inspired by her story, the identical twin sisters are happy to be parting with their locks and will also be fundraising for Hand in Hand – a non-profit organisation that provides families of children with cancer with much-needed support.
