Alan Cantwell is to leave TV3 having worked at the television station for 14 years.
Alan, who has been the main news anchor for the 5.30pm news slot, is moving on to “engage in other broadcasting and business projects” according to reports today.

Alan has been a regular feature of TV3 for almost 15 years.
Speaking about it to the Irish Independent, he said: “I would like to thank the TV3 audience which has been very loyal to me over the years and my colleagues and many friends.”
Alan’s last broadcast is due to take place at the end of this year and will no doubt mark the end of an era.

He will no doubt be missed by the viewers and his colleagues.
His departure will be the second high-profile one in recent weeks as last month, TV3 Director of Programming, Ben Frow announced that he was returning to Channel 5.
