Two 90- year-olds went on a blind date in a book shop and our hearts just exploded

*weeps softly*

Ellen Tannam

We are a tiny bit crying you guys.

Miriam Steiner is 93, and Harold Sharlin is 90, but they both looked like the epitome of love’s young dream on their recent blind date at Politics and Prose bookstore in Washington, D.C.

According to TODAY,  Steiner and Sharlin were introduced by Sharlin’s granddaughter, who served Steiner at a restaurant last week and got on with her like a house on fire.

Sharlin told TODAY: “My Jenny was so impressed with Miriam’s pep and vigor that she said, ‘You’d make a great date for my grandfather!'”

According to Steiner, Jenny is a ‘shadchan’, or a ‘matchmaker’ in Jewish terminology.

The picture of the lovely twosome was taken by staff when Steiner let them know she was waiting for a date to arrive, and we’re so glad they did because, well, just LOOK AT IT.

Even if they don’t fall madly in love, maybe at least they can become best pals, start a talk show, go on a road trip for a reality TV series…the list is endless.

It seems like the bookstore is a haven for new couples to emerge, as one user commented:

“My mother and step-father, both widowers, also met at P&P for their first blind date and celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary on Sunday.”

*Wipes tears*
