If tidiness is something you look for in a man and value in a relationship then you could be doing your sex life more harm than good.
A new report has found that husbands who stick to more ahem, “traditional” jobs such as gardening and fixing the car have more sexual intercourse than men who help their wives with “female” tasks such as cleaning, cooking and shopping.
But what if you don’t have a car and the sight of a pile of dirty football gear makes your blood boil? Looks like you won’t be getting any tonight!
Sociologists from the University of Washington found that on average couples who jointly spent 34 hours a week on traditional female jobs only had sex five times a month.
However, women who did all the traditional female tasks reportedly had sex 1.6 more times per month than those whose husbands helped with the “feminine” jobs.

Someone won't be getting any tonight...
One of the study’s authors Sabino Kornich did warn that the findings should not be taken as an excuse for not helping with the cleaning or the cooking saying it could “increase conflict in their marriage and lower their wives marital satisfaction”.
But another one of the authors Julie Brines has revealed that the results show how gender still determines our roles in relationships and that gender roles “still organise quite a bit of everyday life in marriage”.
"In particular, it seems that the gender identities husbands and wives express through the chores they do also help structure sexual behaviour."
Who knew putting the bins out and helping with the ironing could have such an impact on your sex life!
