Beth Whaanga recently had to go through a number of surgeries to rid her body of cancer. After the operations, Beth teamed up with photographer Nadia Mascot for a photo campaign entitled “Under the Red Dress.”
Beth has described herself as a “breast cancer preventer” and bravely decided to share her scars online to make people more aware of breast cancer. Her sister later posted that 103 people had unfriended her because of the pictures.
Beth took to her account to clarify the reasons for the project and what she had gone through:
The photos essentially speak for themselves. This is a very brave woman!
Beth includes all of the details of her scars in each picture.
