Urban Outfitters in Dundrum Town Centre has closed its doors

Say it ain't so!

Bad news for Urban Outfitters fans!

Their beloved store in Dundrum Town Centre has officially closed down *sigh*. Announcing the news via a sign on their shop front, they wrote: “This store will be closing on Monday 30 April 2018. You can still shop at Urban Outfitters Temple Bar, Cecilia St or online at urbanoutfitters.com”.

The notice was spotted by blogger Louise Cooney, who posted the image to her Insta story today, May 1, captioning it “nooooo”, we feel you.

The store which was located in the outdoor plaza to the back of the shopping centre first opened its doors in Dublin 14 back in 2007 and will be a major loss for lovers of the brand.

The good news is however, you can still find the US retailer at their city centre location in Temple Bar. The Temple Bar store first opened in 2000 and explaining their choice for the location back in the noughties, Hugh Wahla, acting managing director for Urban Outfitters Europe said: “The decision to locate in Temple Bar rather than a main retail street is part of our policy; we are not your typical high street retailers, we prefer more off-the-beaten-track locations and Temple Bar is the perfect place for a lifestyle store.”

Hmmm perhaps this is why DTC just wasn’t their cup of tea.
