A man's best friend.
Previously we put together a list of
the foods that you should avoid feeding your dog but it seems there are a few things we didn't know about.
In a video that featured on
Oprah.com, vet Barbara Royal named a few food items that should never be given to our canine friends.

Now, to be fair, some of the inclusions are things that we wouldn't imagine feeding our pets but at the same time, it's easy to see how leftovers can be given to pets.
Pizza crusts
You mightn't think anything of giving your pet a pizza crust from your plate but Barbara says this is a very bad idea.
"That comes under my long list of things, which is: no corn, no wheat, no soy, no white potato in foods. In processed foods, they'll include the skin, and in the skin is solanine, which is [a] really toxic substance" said the expert.
Crisps
Similar to pizza crusts, it's easy to give your dog a stray crisp when they're looking at you with puppy eyes.
Again, this is an emphatic no, with Barbara advising"The salty foods are things that are going to be more inflammatory. You don't want to be feeding these to your pets".
All
sugary foods are "off-limits" in Barbara's book and another thing she recommends is to always avoid giving your pup is
peanut butter.
It's not one we would ever think of feeding our dogs but just in case you do, this vet says that it can contribute to allergies.
