Yesterday Vicky took to social media to tell followers that her account had been hacked and was being held at ransom by a hacker who was looking for $3,500.

The mom of two who is currently in Maryland in the US undergoing cancer treatment used the account to post about her updates.

She posted the message she received from the hacker who claimed to be an expert in the field that said "any action you take to get the account back will have no effect and your account will belong to me forever. Therefore, stay away from unnecessary methods and don’t waste time."

The Irish mom didn't waste anytime posting about her ordeal on social media and it looks like someone was able to help out because she now has her account back!

In the meantime she set up a new account so that she could continue to update her followers on her progress. She revealed the good news this morning saying "we did it!!!! People power did this, I got my original Instagram account back."

"It is STILL under a different username owerwawe which I can’t change back for two whole weeks BUT I got all my old posts, photos, comments and messages back. It looks like some are missing but most of it is intact."

Vicky doesn't plan on using the old account anymore because she feels it's "tainted" now but she will keep it for ‘"the memories that are contained within."

You will find Vicky posting on her new account @vickykellyphelan. Thankfully her ordeal is over and she can get back to focusing on her treatment.
