"A moment of levity", one YouTube user has described the awkward moment news reporter Wolf Blitzer asked a tornado survivor if she "thanked the Lord".
The survivor of the tornado in Moore, Oklahoma held her 19-month-old son in her arms as she described how she escaped from her house with him before the twister tore through it.
"We're happy you're here. You guys did a great job," Blitzer said to survivor Rebecca Vitsmun.
"You've gotta thank the Lord, right? Do you thank the Lord for that split-second decision?"
Vitsmun hesitates and then smiles, "I'm actually an atheist," she laughed.
"You are. All right. But you made the right call," Blitzer said.
"We are here, and I don't blame anyone for thanking the Lord," Vitsmun said, making the awkward situation a little less awkward.
