Last night brave Stephanie Meehan spoke courageously on the Late Late Show about her anguish over Priory Hall and how it forced her beloved partner to suicide over the summer.
Fiachra Daly took his own life on July 15th, after becoming “bogged down and pressured” by letters from their mortgage lenders regarding overdue repayments.
The Donaghmeade, Dublin complex was deemed uninhabitable after a series of fire safety breaches and all apartments were evacuated, back in October 2011.
Since then the residents of Priory Hall have been forced to pay off large mortgages and debt for homes they cannot live in.

In the extremely emotional interview with Tubridy, Stephanie urged that Enda Kenny sort the situation and not wait for another person to die. Earlier in the week the Taoiseach described the situation at Priory Hall as a “complete injustice” and pledged to resolve the issue.
“I just can’t let Fiachra die in vain. If by me talking here tonight can help one person – be it from Priory Hall or anywhere, can make them reconsider taking their own life by suicide. Just see what’s left behind.”
“I’m hoping what the Taoiseach has said is true. I hope it is not another two years. I hope they are working on a solution right now, and they’re not waiting for another person to take their own life,” she continued.
The Mum-of-two wants Priory Hall to be knocked down, as it will never “be the home that I bought and shared with my beautiful partner.”
