The first dance is a very special moment on your big day. Taking to the floor in front of your nearest and dearest to glide in time with the music with the partner of your dreams… it’s a pretty big deal.
Many couples spend time prepping for the big moment, choosing the most romantic song and making sure they can keep their 1,2,3’s in check. Some, however, take it to a whole other level.
After she spotted this video on Her.ie recently, our lovely reader Louise Magee got in touch to share this memory of her special day.
Louise and her hubby David wed last summer, after 12 years as a couple.
Only bridesmaid Elaine and the bride’s mother knew about the special plans for the first dance, and helped with the moves too. Louise herself edited the tracks together, and tells us that she and David only had an hour a night for three or four nights to nail the moves.
She admitted; “I was so nervous about the dance I was up in the honeymoon suite rehearsing as the band were setting up.”
The wonderful dance, captured on camera above, was only one of many surprises the couple planned for their big day. Others included a magician, a photobooth, a candy cart complete with Oompa Lumpas. The pair also made all their own wedding cupcakes, and David added a personal touch by naming all the tables after Liverpool players.
All we’re saying is, we’d party with these guys any time.
Thanks to Louise for sending us this one! If you'd like to share your story, or you've spotted something weird or wonderful you think we should feature on Her.ie get in touch! You'll find us on Twitter here, on Facebook here or you can drop us a line to [email protected]!
