You think you’re having the worst hangover ever? Think again. Roscommon native, Daniel Clavins woke up after a friend’s stag with the hiccups. 14 months later he is still suffering with them.
The 37-year-old, that now resides in New York. said medical professionals are baffled as to what could possibly cause his case of constant hiccupping.
Beginning in July 2012, the father-of-two has hiccupped an estimated 5.25 million times since.
In this video Daniel reveals how they’ve taken over his life and states that he drank nothing out of the ordinary the night before they occurred.
His condition has become more severe, suffering now from chronic bouts of hiccupping that resulting in vomiting.
29-year-old Chris Sands from England suffered with hiccups for 3 years before a brain tumour was discovered. The man’s story encouraged Clavins to get an MRI brain scan, which he is awaiting the results of.
Daniel has tried just about everything for them to stop, but so far nothing has worked.
