This man, Charles Ramsay, is being dubbed a hero around the world as he helped rescue three women who went missing separately ten years ago.
The girls were in their teens or early 20s at the time and were found alive, chained up, yesterday in a residential area in Cleveland, Ohio. Three brothers have been arrested, Huffington Post reports.
Last night, crowds gathered on the street near the home where police said Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight had been held since they went missing.
The women are said to be in good health and have been taken to hospital to be reunited with their families. Police also confirmed a 6-year-old was found at the residence.
Charles Ramsay said he heard screams coming from the house. Amanda Berry met him at the house as she pleaded with him to call 911.
"I've been kidnapped, and I've been missing for 10 years," she told the dispatcher. "And I'm here. I'm free now."
Police said one of the brothers, a 52-year-old, lived at the home.
They released no names and gave no details about the others arrested or what charges they might face.
