This will warm your heart.

With Christmas fast approaching and so many of our young people spread to all corners of the globe, emotional reunions will be a common and heart-warming sight in the coming weeks.

Sometimes, though, a surprise visit is the most priceless gift of all.

Such was the case this week when Tralee woman Susan Curran got the shock of a lifetime when her son popped into her workplace… three years after emigrating to Australia.

Curran was working in Cassidy’s Restaurant in the Kingdom when she was sent upstairs by conspiratorial colleagues, only to find her 21-year-old son Daniel waiting.

Speaking to Tralee Today, Susan said: “It was a great surprise because he wasn’t supposed to be home until June for my daughter Natasha’s wedding.”

“I was only talking to him the week before and he told me he wouldn’t be coming home and he’d be doing travelling over Christmas in Asia.

“He gave me a good fright alright. My legs couldn’t stop shaking. The restaurant was packed and everyone was looking on wondering what was going on.”

Daniel and his girlfriend plan to stay at home until December 30th before heading back Down Under.
