All-Ireland winning captain, Kilkenny’s Lester Ryan delivered one of the best ever All-Ireland winning speeches last Saturday evening as he was presented with the Liam McCarthy cup.
However, the success of his speech was revealed this week by his cousin, when he posted a video of 10-year-old Lester practicing that very same speech back in 1998.
The aspiring young hurler is captured on camera reciting his speech as part of the Feile na Gael Kilkenny competition (the speaking competition, not the hurling one).
Last Saturday’s speech seemed to come easy to the talented hurler, and it’s no wonder why – he’s been practising for the last 16 years!
