Wendy and Tom Montgomery, faithful Mormons, had been following the practices of their church, were anti-gay marriage and had even campaigned against the proposition.
However, according to the Huffington Post, when their son informed them he was gay, their outlook completely changed.
Now, the family campaigns for the Church of the Latter-day Saints to reverse the decision that homosexuality is a sin.
"There are so many that grew up in my situation, in conservative, religious homes that are being taught this," Wendy Montgomery said. "It's just not accurate. It's not right. And it's so damaging to the kids."
