Wouldn’t you just hate to be this poor guy? We reckon he’s probably going to be known as ‘drunk escalator man’ for the rest of his life. Just like how this guy will forever be known as ‘that man who slipped on ice on the RTE news.’
Anyway, this video of a drunk Japanese businessman trying to walk down an ‘up’ escalator in the London Underground has gone viral.
The man, who is wearing a suit and carrying a briefcase, was trying to get down the ‘up’ escalator at Tottenham Court Road tube station, and unfortunately for him, Sam Napper and his friends caught the entire incident on their mobile phones.
“One by one, concerned commuters tried to steer him in the right direction, to no avail. Our bespectacled hero just kept walking,” said Sam, speaking to The Sun newspaper.
“Eventually, we let the poor sod out of his hamster wheel-like hell and pushed the emergency stop button. After pausing for a few seconds, he turned around and walked out, as if nothing ever happened, saying nothing, leaving us stunned,” Sam added.
Alright ladies, ‘fess up – have you ever tried to walk up a ‘down’ escalator or vice versa?
