Over the weekend the US Figure Skating Championships took place at TD Garden in Boston. Only one year after leaving the junior section of the competition, 19-year-old, Jason Brown, wowed the audience with his spectacular performance that his since been dubbed, “riverdance on ice.”

According to website Bleacher Report, onlookers expected greats things from the young man, with his “rhythmic dance moves and grandioso style.” However no one expected Brown to “separate himself from the field enough to garner one of only two U.S. men’s spots for the Sochi Olympics.”

One of the commentators sum up the crowd’s reaction perfectly just shortly before the routine had finished.

“Shut this building down for repairs after this programme because he’s going to blow the roof off it.” He was right.

He certainly gives Michael Flatley a run for his money…
