Ernie Andrus is a 90-year-old World War II veteran determined to put the ship he served on during the war back in Normandy, where the D-Day landings took place.
There were 1,051 LST 325 ships made and this model is the last remaining one, it has been fully restored and is still operational.
Plans were initially made for a D-day memorial service to take place this year, but lack of finances stopped it from going ahead. He hopes to raise enough money in time for a D-day memorial in 2019.
The 90-year-old Navy veteran cross-country runs as part of his fundraising efforts and after watching the video below, all we can say is what a guy!
