Amanda joined Twitter a couple of years ago and, as everyone does, wrote about going to work and meeting her friends.
She also wrote about how one day, after getting some test results done, the doctors told her that she had glioblastoma multiforme, a form of brain cancer.
With only months to live, Amanda started doing the things she had always wanted to do including travelling and making amends with her mother whom she hadn’t spoken to for five years. In April she sadly passed away.
A stranger by the name of Shannon McKarney, who had never met Amanda, later found out about her story and decided to put together a compilation of her tweets to the backdrop of Passenger’s Let Her Go.
Talking about her reasons, she explained: “It’s not my story to tell, and I don’t know if Amanda would have wanted it told this way. But ultimately, I’ve chose to publish it as a tribute to her, and a reminder to all of us: sometime, we will leave it behind.”
