Vince Vaughn And Elisabeth Moss – The Latest Rumours Surrounding True Detective 2

We're really looking forward to Series 2.

Sue Murphy

We’ve heard so many rumours in the lead-up to the second series of True Detective, we’re just not sure what to believe any more. Unfortunately it seems that the Brad Pitt rumour was just that, a rumour. Try not to cry.

The latest casting news emerging from the True Detective camp is that Vince Vaughn is currently in talks for the second series of the show. According to the Wrap, Vaughn is in talks to play the “central antagonist”, although this isn’t necessarily the villain of the piece.

The newest rumour is that the amazing Elisabeth Moss has been approached for the female lead. She has apparently circling the role of a no-nonsense Sheriff who is addicted to gambling and alcohol. Initially, it was rumoured that Jessica Chastain had been eyed up for the project as show bosses were interested in casting a female lead for Series 2.

Apparently, the Wrap reports that Colin Farrell is nearing a deal to star in the series while Taylor Kitsch has been possibly been cast as the younger male lead.

The Wrap reports that the second season of “True Detective” will “follow the death of a corrupt city manager of a fictional California city who’s found brutally murdered amid a potentially groundbreaking transportation deal that would forever change freeway gridlock in the state.”

As we mentioned before, this series of the show will involve several different departments working on the same case.

There have been no confirmations from HBO as of yet.
