Visiting London this winter? You’ll want to hit this rooftop ice rink

The view looks incredible.

Something a little different to the usual tourist spots.

When it comes to winter breaks, London is always a winner.

With a chill in the air and a sprinkling of lights, the city takes on a fairytale, Bridget Jones’ Diary quality over the festive season.

Cheap airfare and a short flight time mean it’s ideal for a weekend away.

It could be asking too much to expect snowfall while you’re over there but one surefire way to make your break feel Christmassy is to hit the London’s newest winter attraction, a rooftop ice rink in the city’s East End.

Formerly a multi-story carpark, the rooftop bar at Skylight Tobacco Dock will transform into a winter wonderland next month.

You’ll basically feel like an extra from Love Actually skating around while taking in views of the city’s skyline.

Visitors will have more than that to enjoy as there’ll still be a rooftop bar (heated, thankfully) with mulled wine, seasonal cocktails and even cheese and chocolate fondue on offer.

Entry to the venue is free, though tickets for ice-skating will be £10 a head.

The ice-rink hasn’t yet been unveiled but given the space they have to work with, it looks promising.

It all kicks off on 2 November but if you’re visiting, bear in mind that it’ll only be open Thursdays to Sundays; from 5pm to 11pm on Thursdays and Fridays and 12pm to 11pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
