Have you ever thought to yourself: ‘Do you know what I’m missing in my life, a twelve month calendar of controversial Russian Head Of State Vladimir Putin’?
No? Well, he’s only gone and done it anyway, with pretty spectacular results.
CNN reports: “The 2016 Putin calendar was published by a tabloid Russian newspaper, Zvezdi I Soveti (Stars and Advice), which says it printed 200,000 copies.”
Apparently the calendar is already selling out, as Putin’s popularity ratings hit up to 80% on a regular basis, despite his less than stellar global reputation.
We’ve got a couple of the images below, with captions translated from the original Russian.
March: ‘I like all Russian women. I personally think Russian women are the most talented and the most beautiful.’
July: “My enthusiasm for active sport, like for many others, came during my youth. And it hasn’t changed over the years.”
November: “Dogs and I have very warm feelings towards one another.”
Can we all stop for a minute and imagine any other global leader doing a calendar like this one for their legions of fans? David Cameron posing with a pile of kittens? It just wouldn’t happen.
