On May 22rd the Irish public will vote on whether or not to add a declaration to our Constitution that "marriage may be contracted in accordance with law by two persons without distinction as to their sex".
As the country gears up to make its wishes known, Louth couple Brighid and Paddy are lending their voices to the Yes campaign.
In a video posted to VoteWithUs.org, the couple appeal for others to say yes to marriage equality.
Brighid and Paddy are described as "devout Catholics". The pair, who live in Louth, are fifty years married this year.
In this touching video, they explain how they want other couples, gay or straight, to be able to legally avail of civil marriage and experience the "protections and companionship" that they have experienced.
Explaining how they fought hard for Civil Rights in Northern Ireland in the 60s, the couple believe that now is the time to support Civil Rights in the South.
