One good deed...

Rebecca McKnight

If you want to head to the kindest festival ever, you’ll need to get yourself to The Rebel County.

On Saturday 18th, Clonakilty plays host to the Random Acts of Kindness Festival.

“Kind” activities are scheduled to take place throughout Clonakilty from dawn until dusk to create “One Kind Day” in the town.

The touring RAOK Compliments Car will give out compliments to one and all.

Now in its fourth year, Clonakilty RAOK Festival celebrates, encourages and showcases the kindness and spirit of people locally and visitors to the town alike. Festival organisers are encouraging other towns to get involved and register acts ofkindness at www.raokclon.com.

The day will end on a high with Random Acts of Dancing in De Barras from 10pm.

The main event PARK (Park for Acts of Random Kindness) takes place from 1-5pm in Emmet Square, Clonakilty. PARK will offer fun for all the family with highlights including a Kindness Scavenger hunt, garden games, an arts and crafts area and the opportunity to decorate and gift your own Fernhill Hotel “kindness” cookie. Live entertainment will be provided by popular local musicians in a De Barras Sitting Room Session.

This year also sees the introduction of the Kind Town event to encourage towns throughout Ireland to participate.
