However, there could be a simple answer to your orgasm woes. In fact, researchers from the Netherlands believe they’ve found the ultimate way to boost your chances of reaching sexual bliss with your man. Be warned though… it’s a little taboo…

According to researchers from the University of Groningen, we should forget about sexy lingerie and sky-high stilettos when it comes to our bedroom antics. Instead we should only wear one thing – a thick pair of woolly socks (we told you it was slightly taboo).

Why should we do this? Well, when the researchers studied brain scans of both men and women as they were having sex, they found that the key to female arousal is deep relaxation and a lack of anxiety.

So, as it’s already widely believed, it’s more about our brains and physical comfort than it is about what he’s doing to our va-jay-jay.

The researchers decided to increase the women’s comfort by making sure her feet were warm (we’re not sure why they did this exactly) and the results revealed that a woman’s chance of having an orgasm increases by a whopping 30 per cent if her feet are cosy.

According to the researchers, the nerve endings in the webbings between your toes are directly linked to your lady parts, so keeping your feet warm helps you to relax and enjoy the experience more, making you far more likely to orgasm.
