Glen Hansard and Damien Dempsey entertained thousands of protesters at Merrion Square moments ago with a rousing rendition of 'Auld Triangle'.
An estimated 80,000 thousand people to took the streets of Dublin today in support of the Right2Water event.
It was reported that people have travelled from all corners of the country with eleven buses coming up from Galway alone this morning while members of the Detroit Water Brigade have come over from the USA to take part in the demonstration.
The Frames frontman and Dempsey sang the iconic Irish track and updated lyrics to reference their opposition to the water charges. The crowd joined in on the famous chorus after some encouragement from the Dublin duo.
