An image of a former bodybuilder that shows her body before and after childbirth has gone viral, after the woman released it in an attempt to take pressure of new mums.
Prior to having children, Taryn Brumfitt had a fit and toned body and admits that she felt “fat, ugly and disgusting” after giving birth to her daughter. However, she decided that in order to set a good example, she would have to accept her new physique and embarked on a project to see if other woman were feeling the same.
She asked 100 women to describe their bodies and after hearing responses including “wobbly, imperfect, stumpy, short, frumpy [and] disgusting”, she has now launched a new campaign to make a feature documentary that will teach women across the globe to look at their bodies in a positive way.
