For anyone watching tonight’s X-Factor, it wasn’t hard to see that the audience were far from impressed from the batch of contestants performing to win a place at judges’ houses.
With the exception of a young boy band and a Queen rendition, it didn’t seem like there was much luck in winning over the crowd. Until Jay James stepped on stage.
Having already impressed the judges during his first round, the former navy recruit told the audience he was hoping to pursue his music dream.
Following his rendition of Coldplay’s ‘Fix You’, Cheryl told the singer:
“Jay, you heard what we thought of you in your first audition and listen to this (the audience). That was a stunning performance, congratulations.”
Simon Cowell even gave a nod to the 30-year old as a special talent in this year’s competition:
“I love the fact you’re in the older category. I think we’re at a point in the music industry where age is no longer a barrier. If you’ve got it, you’ve got it and you are really special.”
This voice will give you chills.
