Love/Hate actor John Connors appeared on last night’s Late Late Show to speak to Ryan Tubridy about the discrimination felt by him and other members of the Travelling Community in Ireland.
He spoke about how his status as a Traveller had let to him being discriminated against and developing depression because of this.
Connors admitted he once put on a different accent so he could secure a job as a security guard.
Many people took to Twitter to praise the actor for his honest and open attitude around discussing Traveller issues.
John Connors giving perspective not heard enough. The media plays huge role in racism against Travellers #LateLateShow

John Connors, articulate, powerful & inspirational in the face of pure disbelieving ignorance from Tubridy. #LateLateShow

What’s sad about the things John Connors said last night on the Late Late is that people refuse to acknowledge anything is wrong

That was a brilliant interview from John Connors on the #LateLateShow in the face of some astonishingly insensitive questioning from Tubridy
