WATCH: The moment DART driver is proposed to at Pearse station platform

I’m not crying, you’re crying!

One Irish man has gone all out this week by proposing to his wife to be at Pearse Street DART station in Dublin.

Paula Carbó Zea was driving the DART into the Dublin City station yesterday evening when she was greeted by a proposal from her boyfriend, Conor O’Sullivan.

Conor was standing on the platform at the end of a collection of signs reading: “Will you marry me?” He also had a bunch of flowers in his hand and, of course, the ring.

In the video shared by Irish Rail, Paula is seen walking off the train and over to her boyfriend while her colleagues and passer-bys cheer.

Twitter user Clodagh Maher was one of the lucky few who saw the whole thing unfold. She took to social media to share another video of Conor’s proposal.

She tweeted: “Didn’t think anything could perk me up after a busy 13hr shift, and some Gent goes and PROPOSES to his GF driving the incoming train at Pearse station.”

Conor later told RTE: “As the train was coming, I was nervous and shaking, I was jumping up and down trying to loosen up, I was very tense, loads of people had stopped and started to watch and take out cameras and as she came up I managed to see her in the train and it just kind of flowed after that.”

“When I was approaching I read “Will you marry me?” and then I saw Conor on the platform waiting for me with the flowers and the ring,” added Paula.

The DART driver said her “first reaction was ‘I will kill him!!'” – but she, of course, said yes.

Genuinely lovely scenes all round.
