WATCH: Two-Year-Old Manages To Call 999 And Saves His Mother’s Life

What a brave little guy.

Cathy Donohue

Two-year-old Riley Ward saved his mother’s life when he called emergency services.

Dana collapsed last month and lost consciousness, prompting Riley to ring the UK’s emergency number 999.

The little boy from Leicestershire told the operator, “Mummy’s on the floor.”

“All I remember is the room getting smaller and smaller and then I opened my eyes when I heard a police officer trying to kick my door down,” Riley’s mom, Dana Henry, told the Leicester Mercury.

“I managed to get up and open the door but then collapsed again”, continued Dana.

The ambulance brought Dana to hospital where it was discovered that she had a large blood clot which had caused dangerous bleeding on her ovary.

“When the surgeon came to see me the next day, she said she had never seen anything like it. When I asked what would have happened if I hadn’t got to hospital, she said I would have been very poorly,” Henry told the Leicester Mercury.

“I would never have rung 999 — I would have kept taking pain killers and hoping it would go away. It really scared me, because if I hadn’t passed out and Riley hadn’t rung the ambulance I might not be here today.”

An excerpt of the telephone call made by Riley is contained in the video below.

It is hard to understand what the little boy is saying but the emergency service workers were aware that something had gone terribly wrong.

It is believed that Riley is the youngest caller to date of the East Midlands Ambulance Services and he received a certificate and paramedic teddy bear for his brave efforts.
