Met Éireann have confirmed that the country will be in a state of absolute drought by this evening.
This state occurs when there are 15 consecutive days of less than 0.2mm of rainfall.
Speaking to Today FM, Met Éireann’s Gerry Murphy said; “For some parts of the East of the country, this state has been reached, in the Dublin region, and that would extend then to other parts of the country today.”
