Motorists have been urged to take extra care on the country's roads this week as freezing cold temperatures are expected.
Meteorologists have warned drivers to be wary of frosty roads, thick freezing fog and sleet in spots.
Forecasters have said that night-time temperatures will drop as low as -4C over the coming days. Day time temperatures will remain between 4C and 8C.

The chilly weather comes after a weekend of heavy rain which flooded many parts of the country with counties Dublin, Wexford, Waterford and Cork the worst affected.
Despite the big chill, the remainder of the week is expected to be dry.
We'd better bring in the turf this evening or we'll be perished!
