We’re totally emotional over the Christmassy moment these people in Dublin reunited with their loved ones in Oz

Tissues at the ready.

Last month, Samsung and Three announced they were partnering up for The Connected Restaurant – a magical way for people to celebrate the holidays with their loved ones living abroad.

Basically, the restaurant was split into two: one half was in Dublin, the other in Sydney.

With each sitting, families and friends were able to get together and share a special Christmas dinner, despite being 17,000km apart.

Over the four days the restaurant was open, it hosted 24 seatings in Ireland and Australia. And that, in turn, means that there were plenty of emotional, super Christmassy moments – which have all been captured in a powerful and touching video.

The film encapsulates the magic of personal connections as the story follows different Irish families and friends unable to spend Christmas together and their excitement of getting to sit down around one table.

Among the visitors to the restaurant was Trish and her family. Trish, who is based in Sydney, explained that she wasn’t able to return home for the holidays this year, having recently given birth.

Trish’s mum, meanwhile, said that it feels lonely without her there in the lead up to the holidays, adding: “I’d love if she was here, I’d love if she was home.”

The emotional video captures the moment when the family connect over Christmas dinner, as well as the heartwarming introduction of the newest addition to the family.
