Anyone with children will understand. You’re a new mum; it’s been a while since you’ve felt up to dolling yourself up and heading out for a night on the tiles, but when you’re ready – you want to go all out.
No problem, if you’re Adele. The multiple award-winning songstress was on the guest list, and the nominee list, for one of the most glitzy annual affairs in Hollywood last night, The Golden Globes.
According to the ‘Skyfall’ singer, she wasn’t expecting to win, just hoping for a nice night out with another new mum, her friend Ida. But win she did, and then proceeded to steal the show with this acceptance speech, where she opening admitted the pair had been ‘p*ssing themselves laughing” at this new and “amazing” world, thanking the cream of Hollywood for letting her be a part of it.
The video is worth a watch if only to see Taylor Swift’s fail at a “gracious loser” face.
You can check out the other big winners from the night right here, and if you’re wondering why Adele only gets the ‘second-best’ speech nod, then you need to see this acceptance speech too.
