Sportsbet are apparently going to fork out $20,000 to paint over a controversial rugby advertisement.
The ad, which was painted on an empty paddock near Melbourne Airport according to ABC, promotes the rugby series between Australia and the British and Irish Lions.
As well as showing the mascots in a rather risqué position (we all know what they’re doing - we can see him winking!), the caption reads “Rooting for the Wallabies” (because that's subtle).
Anyway, Sportsbet are said to be keen to get to the root (sorry) of the problem by covering up the giant image which was described by Planning Minister Matthew Guy as “crass and silly.”
