A representative for JCSD, Daniel Cardenas told KABC-TV, that as Carissa lives at the end of a low sewer flow main, the ring was retrievable.
“A ring like that is very important and we’re just happy we were able to do the best to successfully recover it,” he said.
He also said that Carissa and Kevin checked what to do in this situation and because they didn't flush the toilet again after flushing the ring, it was easier to find.
All's well that ends well but we wouldn't want to imagine what Carissa's stress levels were like at the time.
