What Happened To This Woman’s Engagement Ring Is All Of Our Nightmares

An engagement ring is something to treasure for a lifetime and we can only imagine the panic that must ensue if something happens to it. Carissa Wolter experienced the ultimate nightmare when she flushed a piece of tissue down the toilet only to realise afterwards that her engagement ring and a pair of diamond earrings were wrapped up in the piece of paper. She had removed her jewellery while cleaning her make-up brushed and tidied everything away afterwards, completely forgetting that she had taken off her much-loved jewellery. When the panic set in, she called her fiancé Kevin and they contacted the Jurupa Community Services District to search for the ring.

A representative for JCSD, Daniel Cardenas told KABC-TV, that as Carissa lives at the end of a low sewer flow main, the ring was retrievable. “A ring like that is very important and we’re just happy we were able to do the best to successfully recover it,” he said. He also said that Carissa and Kevin checked what to do in this situation and because they didn't flush the toilet again after flushing the ring, it was easier to find.
