‘What happens in Coppers, stays in Coppers’ may not be the case anymore

Conor Heneghan

Coppers

“Gone are the days of your antics at the shifting wall and thinking you got away with it.”

One of the most popular nightspots in the capital and indeed, the country, Copper Face Jacks is not exactly renowned as an establishment where one would go for a couple of quiet pints.

The crowds are usually huge, the music is loud, the craic is good and those who have been there often wake up the next morning not remembering every single detail from the night before.

On that note, regulars to the Harcourt Street nightspot might be interested to learn of a new feature for the Copper Face Jacks website which promises that the old adage of ‘What happens in Coppers, stays in Coppers’ might not ring true in the future.

A new blog from a faceless contributor known only as ‘Jack the Lad’ promises to shed light on all the goings on in the famous nightclub, with weekly updates that will dish the dirt on the previous seven days’ activities in Coppers.

The extent of the details Jack the Lad will be revealing in the blog remain to be seen, but when he says “gone are the days of your antics at the shifting wall and thinking you got away with it,” then you would think he means business.

In reality, it will probably be harmless enough and public embarrassment will be kept to a minimum, but the proof will be in the pudding.

We’d imagine that patrons of Coppers are safe enough over the Easter weekend, but as far as the future is concerned, you’ve been warned.
