You would have forgiven Ben Affleck for being a little downhearted yesterday after he failed to make the Oscar shortlist for Best Director but it seems that he’s not letting the snub get him down.
The actor was spotted looked in good spirits last night at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards in California, although the fact that he won Best Director and Argo took home the award for Best Film probably helped.
In fact he even went so far as to joke about the whole thing during his acceptance speech: “I would like to thank the Academy. I’m kidding, I’m kidding. This is the one that counts. No, I do want to thank the Broadcast Film Critics Association.”
Ben Affleck took home the award for Best Director last night.
But Ben wasn’t the only shining star as Jennifer Lawrence took home two awards, Best Comedy Actress for her role in Silver Linings Playbook and Best Action Actress for The Hunger Games.
Her handsome co-star Bradley Cooper also took home the Best Comedy Actor title for his role in the flick which bagged the awards for Best Comedy Film and Best Acting Ensemble.
Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence both took home awards.
Lincoln's Daniel Day-Lewis was named Best Actor while Dark Zero Thirty star Jessica Chastain claimed Best Actress. Anne Hathaway was named Best Supporting Actress for her role in Les Misérables while Philip Seymour Hoffman took home the male equivalent for The Master.
It was also a good night for Skyfall which ended up with three awards for Best Action Film, Best Action Actor (Daniel Craig) and Original Song.

Les Misérables star Anne Hathaway received the Best Supporting Actress award.
