What’s Your Nookie Style? Your Choice Of Bedroom Antics Could Determine How Healthy You Are

The type of nookie you get down and dirty could determine how healthy you are, new research claims.

The study reports that people who are into kinky sex could be psychologically healthier than those who are not.

The researchers found that people who were involved in BDSM (bondage, discipline, sadism and masochism or Fifty Shades as it's more commonly known now), scored higher results on certain indicators of mental health than those who kept it "vanilla".

LiveScience reports on the research which was published in the Journal of Sexual Science.

Participants in the study filled out questionnaires on their personalities, their general well-being, how they deal with rejection and how attached they become in relationships.

They answered the questions not knowing what the study was based on.

The research claims your bedroom style determines how healthy you are... 

BDSM participants were found to be "less neurotic, more open and more aware of and more sensitive to rejection" the study reports. They were also more secure in their relationships and had better overall wellbeing.

The researchers believe that people involved in BDSM tend to be more aware of their sexual desires and let them known.

They emphasised the fact that the research was based on participants who were selected on a volunteer basis and so mightn't represent society as a whole.
