So we knew that Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were hosting the ceremony but only now has it been revealed what films and television shows are in with a chance of picking up a Golden Globe on the night.
As expected, Les Misérables earned multiple nominations including Best Motion Picture for a Musical or Comedy where it is up against The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Moonrise Kingdom, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen and Silver Linings Playbook.
Les Misérables looks set to be a big winner on the night.
Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln has also fared very well and looks likely to pick up at least one of the seven awards it has been nominated for on the night.
As well as earning Spielberg a mention in the Best Director category, it is also up for Best Motion Picture (Drama) with leading man Daniel Day-Lewis getting a Best Actor nod also in the Drama category.
Lewis has some serious competition in the form of Richard Gere, John Hawkes, Joaquin Phoenix and Denzel Washington. Then again, so too does Spielberg who is up against Ben Affleck, Kathryn Bigelow, Ang Lee and Quentin Tarantino.

Steven Spielberg's Lincoln has received seven nominations.
Silver Linings Playbook is another flick which has received a number of nods including those for its two leads Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence.
Again both have a fight on their hands with Lawrence up against Emily Blunt, Judi Dench, Maggie Smith and Meryl Streep and Cooper alongside Jack Black, Hugh Jackman, Bill Murray and Ewan McGregor.
As for television Homeland, Breaking Bad and Downton Abbey are the prominent shows in the drama categories but as with all of the nominations, they will have to wait until January 13th to find out has won. We can't wait!

Silver Linings Playbook co-stars Lawrence and Cooper are both up for awards.
